2010 African American Trailblazers in Virginia History
June 7 - July 17, 2010
This exhibit honors eight men and women of African descent who have made significant contributions to Virginia history and culture. The exhibit is sponsored by the Library of Virginia and Capital One. Attorney Joseph Thomas Newsome is featured in the 2010 exhibit as well as Hampton's Mrs. Mary Peake. The opening reception will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 from 12 noon to 2pm and will feature a 141st birthday tribute to Attorney Joseph Thomas Newsome.
